To obtain professionally prepared personal, family and/or general office disaster kits, you may contact Survival Solutions directly at 410.591.1133 or via email RBSurvivor7777@yahoo.com Survival Solutions does not distribute pre-fabricated kits. We custom design our kits to fit your needs.
Basic kits are broken down into two categories in the workplace The general kit is designed to provide the basic needs for all personnel in an office. The personal kit is designed by, and provided by, the individual(s) in the workplace for their more personalized needs. GENERAL KIT SUGGESTIONS WATER This could be the most important item in the kit. Plan to have a minimum of one gallon per person per day for three days. The storage and maintenance of a water supply is problematic -- it is suggested that the water be purchased in pre-packaged plastic bottles. This will ease the problems of storage, replacement and distribution. FOOD Plan on a three-day supply for each person. Select foods that require minimum preparation and have a long shelf life. When selecting food, think: ready-to-eat canned goods such as meats, fruits, etc. Include power bars, dried fruit and snack foods for morale purposes. FIRST AID A level three kit that is large enough to care for all personnel is recommended. Many workplaces have commercial kits and provided these are well maintained, they are sufficient. If no such kit is provided, one needs to be assembled. *See first aid shopping list. PERSONAL KIT SUGGESTIONS The purpose of these kits is to provide for your individual needs and requirements that would not be covered by the general kit. MEDICAL NEEDS If you require daily medication, keep a three-day supply in your kits. Keep these in the original bottles with the doctor and pharmacy information on the label. An extra pair of prescription glass should also be included. CLOTHING A full change of clothing, including comfortable shoes or boots, should be included in your kit. Select long pants and long sleeve shirts for the protection they provide. Work gloves, hat and bandana-type hankies will also aid in protecting your skin should that be necessary. MAP Get an updated, comprehensive map of the area in case you have to move or find a service located nearby. MONEY Change for public phones and a small amount of cash. Remember cell phones and ATMs may not be working in some emergencies. Emergency Kits, contd. EQUIPMENT Small flashlight and extra batteries. FOOD Personal comfort food or those that fit your dietary restrictions. Dont forget your pets. INFORMATION A list of contact numbers and meeting places for loved ones.
